Buy good quality low price Calcine Bauxite at wedge india for Refractory Bricks, Castables for steel, cement, and glass industries.

Calcined Bauxite is a high-alumina refractory material produced by heating raw bauxite at high temperatures (typically between 1400°C and 1800°C) to remove moisture, organic matter, and other volatile impurities. This process increases the alumina (Al₂O₃) content and improves the material's hardness, thermal stability, and abrasion resistance.

Key Properties of Calcined Bauxite:

  • High Alumina Content (80–90% Al₂O₃)

  • High Refractoriness (Melting point ~1800°C)

  • Excellent Abrasion Resistance

  • Good Thermal Shock Resistance

  • High Mechanical Strength

Production Process:

  • Mining & Crushing: Raw bauxite is mined and crushed into smaller particles.

  • Calcination: Heated in rotary kilns or shaft kilns at 1400–1800°C to drive off free and combined water, converting gibbsite (Al(OH)₃) and boehmite (AlO(OH)) into corundum (α-Al₂O₃).

  • Cooling & Sizing: The calcined product is cooled and graded into different particle sizes.

Applications:

  • Refractory Bricks & Castables (for steel, cement, and glass industries)

  • Abrasion-Resistant Coatings & Flooring

  • Proppants in Oil & Gas Fracking

  • High-Alumina Cement

  • Ceramics & Polishing Abrasives

Grades of Calcined Bauxite:

  • High-Grade (88–90% Al₂O₃) – Used in premium refractories.

  • Medium-Grade (80–85% Al₂O₃) – Common in abrasives and proppants.

  • Low-Grade (70–80% Al₂O₃) – Used in cement and road surfacing.
